IBTS is currently recruiting for a Green/Energy Plan Reviewer to join our growing and dynamic plan review team in Ashburn, VA.  The selected candidate will participate in the green/energy plan reviews for large complex commercial/residential projects. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform in-depth technical review and analyses of building design, construction, and operations for compliance with green and energy codes adopted by local jurisdictions or other sustainability standards.
  • Educate the marketplace by effectively communicating technical requirements through written, verbal, and in-person meetings with project teams, staff of local jurisdictions, and customers on Green/Energy related issues.
  • Perform quality control (QC) review of work done by other green reviewers.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and refining IBTS green/energy programs, policies, and plans.
  • Contribute to the continued development and increased technical knowledge of fellow green reviewers through collaborative teamwork and mentoring.

  • A bachelor degree is preferred, experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Significant understanding of ICC green and energy codes.
  • Obtained or be able to obtain ICC green and energy plan examiner certification within three month after hire.
  • 3 years of work experience in green design, high-performance projects, or LEED projects (LEED professionals preferred).
